Key takeaways

  • 4 of 18 vendors we track document a direct MyCase integration: Abby Connect, NextPhone, Ruby and Smith.ai.
  • Only Ruby and Smith.ai appear in MyCase's own integrations directory, read October 27, 2026; the other two rest on the vendors' pages.
  • NextPhone's direct MyCase connection "needs MyCase's Advanced tier" and sits on its Growth plan, $299/month for unlimited calls.
  • Leads that enter MyCase as online leads still wait for someone at the firm to approve them.

Our arithmetic: each vendor's cheapest published plan for 150 calls a month plus its published overage, at 3-minute calls. A MyCase tier, a higher vendor plan an integration needs, and Zapier are not included. How we price.

MyCase's directory, read October 27, 2026, lists two of the four: Ruby and Smith.ai. NextPhone's and Abby Connect's cells rest on their own integration pages. We have tested none of them on a MyCase account of our own. The other ten tools are on the full integration matrix.

Where a call lands in MyCase

A receptionist can put a call in one of two places in MyCase, and they behave differently.

The call log. Smith.ai writes here: "You'll be able to view every Smith.ai call in your Call Log, within the Communications tab on your MyCase dashboard." (smith.ai/integrates-with/mycase, read October 27, 2026) The same page says this covers "one of our receptionists or AI Receptionist", so the AI product is named.

The leads queue. NextPhone creates a lead instead, which "arrives in your Online leads queue, the same place your website form leads land" (getnextphone.com/integrations/mycase, read October 27, 2026). Online leads are not live until someone approves them, which NextPhone's page also says.

Ruby does both, with manual steps. Calls land in the Call Log, where your staff "click the Add/Link Caller button to either create a new MyCase contact from the call" (Ruby help center, read October 27, 2026). New leads go in through your MyCase contact form, and "Your firm will still need to approve the lead by clicking on the Online Lead section in MyCase and then clicking Approve," per the same article.

Abby Connect says calls are "logged to the case for clients, captured as intake leads for new callers" (abby.com/integration/mycase, read October 27, 2026). Asked whether its AI does the same, its page answers that "Abby's AI receptionist answers with the same scripts and logs to MyCase the same way" (same page, read October 27, 2026).

Plan and tier rules

Smith.aiNone namedEvery AI plan; a second CRM is extra on live plansYou, from its setup guide

NextPhone states the tier plainly: "the direct integration needs MyCase's Advanced tier, since that is where MyCase makes it available" (getnextphone.com/integrations/mycase, read October 27, 2026). On a lower tier it points you to Zapier. The connection is on NextPhone's Growth plan at $299/month for unlimited calls, so the Pro price in the table does not include it.

Smith.ai's live receptionists page charges "$0.50/call per additional CRM" (smith.ai/pricing/receptionists, read October 26, 2026). If MyCase is your only connected system, that charge does not arise.

At 5 calls a day the two per-minute services with people on the line cost $1,346.50 for Abby Connect and $1,635 for Ruby. If you are weighing those against a hire, see what an in-house receptionist costs against AI.

A MyCase claim we do not count

A My AI Front Desk law-firm page says "Frontdesk syncs to MyCase for intake-to-matter automation and conflict-check workflows" (myaifrontdesk.com/answering-service-for-law-firms/mycase, read October 27, 2026). Its integrations page and help center list no MyCase integration, and MyCase's directory has no listing. Until a setup document exists, the matrix records it as via Zapier.

What "via Zapier" means for MyCase

10 of 18 vendors we track connect only this way: Bland, Dialzara, Goodcall, My AI Front Desk, Phonely, Posh, Retell AI, Rosie, Synthflow and Upfirst. MyCase's Zapier app offers write actions including "Create Call", "Create Lead" and "Create Person" (zapier.com/apps/mycase, read October 27, 2026).

That means you can choose, Zap by Zap, whether a finished call becomes a call-log entry or a lead. Zapier lists ready pairs for Rosie, Upfirst, Phonely and Bland with MyCase. You still build the Zap, keep it running and pay Zapier, and the Zap fires only after the call ends.

For a firm building its own Zap at 13 calls a day, Goodcall costs $129, less than Rosie, Upfirst, Phonely, My AI Front Desk and Dialzara at that volume. Goodcall bills per unique caller, and our arithmetic counts every call as a new caller.

What to ask before you buy

  1. Call log or leads queue? Ask where a new caller lands, and who approves online leads.
  2. Which MyCase tier? NextPhone names Advanced. Ask the others in writing, since none of their pages name one.
  3. What about callers with an existing case? Abby says calls it cannot match are "delivered to your team clearly labeled" (abby.com/integration/mycase, read October 27, 2026). Ask each vendor for its matching rule.
  4. Does the AI write the same fields as the people? Smith.ai and Abby Connect say yes. Ruby's MyCase pages describe its receptionists only.
  5. Can I watch a test call land? Ask for one in your own MyCase before you sign.

Which one fits which firm

If calls should appear in the MyCase call log without a lead step: Smith.ai. Its pages name the AI receptionist and no MyCase tier. At 5 calls a day the AI plan costs $270, and $695.30 at 13 a day, since it bills per call.

If you are on MyCase Advanced and want intake as leads, set up for you: NextPhone. Its Growth plan costs $299/month for unlimited calls at any volume. The connection rests on NextPhone's own page; MyCase's directory does not list it.

If a person must answer and log to the case: Abby Connect. At 5 calls a day it costs less than Ruby, the other live option with a direct MyCase connection. Ruby has the MyCase directory listing; Abby Connect's rests on its own page.

Firms on other systems can compare AI receptionists that write to Clio and AI receptionists that write to Lawmatics.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which receptionist services are in the MyCase integrations directory?

Ruby and Smith.ai have listings in MyCase's integrations directory, read October 27, 2026. Both say call details and new lead opportunities sync back to MyCase. NextPhone and Abby Connect describe direct MyCase integrations on their own pages but have no directory listing.

Do I need MyCase Advanced to connect an AI receptionist?

For NextPhone's direct connection, yes: its MyCase page says the integration needs MyCase's Advanced tier. Smith.ai, Ruby and Abby Connect name no MyCase tier on the pages we read. A Zapier connection does not depend on the vendor's direct integration.

Do leads from a receptionist need approval in MyCase?

Yes, when they arrive as online leads. Ruby's help center says the firm still approves each lead in the Online Lead section, and NextPhone's leads arrive in the same Online leads queue as website form leads. Ruby's help center ties that step to leads, not to calls in the Call Log.

Can Smith.ai's AI receptionist write to MyCase?

Yes, by Smith.ai's own page, which says calls handled by its receptionists or its AI Receptionist sync to MyCase. Each call shows in the Call Log under the Communications tab, with the date and time, the caller's contact information and a summary.

How these numbers were made

Every vendor price on this page was read from the vendor's own pricing page on the date in its Source cell and saved as a dated capture. Monthly costs use each vendor's cheapest published plan for the volume plus its published overage, at 3-minute calls. Vendors that hide prices stay in the tables as quote only. We do not test answering quality and publish no ratings.

Changes to these prices

  • Upfirst: cancellation notice recorded as none. Its pricing FAQ says "You can cancel, upgrade, or downgrade anytime, no questions asked," the same strength as other cancel-anytime terms. Its setup-fee summary now reads "None stated": no page says there is no fee. No price changed.
  • Retell AI: corrected the transfer term. Its pricing page says "Once the call is transferred, the AI voice agent fee stops. Only the telephony fee continues for the remainder of the transferred call." The index had said the whole call was billed after a transfer. No price changed.
  • My AI Front Desk: the 1,000 monthly overage credits its pricing page lists as included ("Extra credits you get each month in case you go over your included usage") now count as 40 included minutes, so Business-in-a-Box covers 240 minutes before the $0.25 rate applies (was 200).
  • Phonely: its Professional plan card says 650 minutes and its comparison table 750; the card is used. When two plans tie on their lowest cost, the one with the narrower range is chosen, so Phonely at 300 calls a month prices on Professional alone.
  • My AI Front Desk: billing-term summaries (billing unit, rounding, time billed beyond the call, spam, setup fee, contract, trial) added from the vendor-data billing-terms and contracts files and their captures. No price changed.

  • Goodcall added from its own pricing page (captured October 26, 2026), with billing terms from its terms, FAQ and help pages (read October 27, 2026). Goodcall bills per unique caller a month; our arithmetic counts every call as a different caller.
  • Dialzara added from its own pricing page (captured October 26, 2026), with billing terms from its terms, FAQ and help pages (read October 27, 2026).
  • Upfirst added from its own pricing page (captured October 26, 2026), with billing terms from its terms, FAQ and help pages (read October 27, 2026). Upfirst does not bill calls under 15 seconds or spam.

  • Posh: billing terms added from its terms, FAQ and help pages (read October 7, 2026): billing unit, rounding, time billed beyond the call, spam billing, setup fee, contract and trial.
  • Abby Connect: billing terms added from its terms, FAQ and help pages (read October 7, 2026): billing unit, rounding, time billed beyond the call, spam billing, setup fee, contract and trial.
  • Ruby: overage rates added from its help center ($5.40/min on the 50-minute plan down to $3.65 on 1,000 minutes), plus the 350, 750 and 1,000 minute plans published there. Ruby's pricing page still shows no overage rate.
  • Abby Professional overage corrected to $2.99 per Abby Minute (its terms and help center), from $3.00 computed as price divided by minutes.
