NextPhone Pricing 2026: Plans, Flat Monthly Cost and Where It Loses
Published · prices checked October 26, 2026
Key takeaways
- NextPhone costs $199 a month at 3, 5 and 13 three-minute calls a day alike: every plan has unlimited calls, so only the plan you pick moves the bill.
- At 3 calls a day NextPhone costs more than every other AI receptionist in our table; Upfirst costs $59.95 at that volume.
- Rosie passes NextPhone at about 334 calls a month, Upfirst at about 353 calls a month and Goodcall at about 770 calls a month.
- The flat price buys self-setup. Done-for-you setup and CRM updates are Growth, $299/month for unlimited calls.
NextPhone starts at $199/month (unlimited calls), and that is the bill at 3, 5 or 13 three-minute calls a day (prices checked October 26, 2026). It sells no minutes and no calls, so the question is at what volume a metered plan costs more.
NextPhone pricing plans
Prices checked against each vendor's own pricing page on October 26, 2026.
| Plan | Price and allowance | Past the allowance | The math |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pro | $199/month for unlimited calls | None, unlimited calls | $199 ÷ 300 min = $0.66/min at 100 calls |
| Growth | $299/month for unlimited calls | None, unlimited calls | $299 ÷ 300 min = $1.00/min at 100 calls |
| Scale | $599/month for unlimited calls | None, unlimited calls | $599 ÷ 300 min = $2.00/min at 100 calls |
Our arithmetic: each vendor's cheapest published plan for that volume plus its published overage, at 3-minute calls. Taxes, setup fees and add-ons are not included. How we price.
All three plans list "Unlimited" included calls, "None" for per-minute charges and "None" for overage fees in the pricing page's comparison table (getnextphone.com/pricing, read October 26, 2026). What changes between them is who builds the agent and what it can do:
- Pro: "You set it up yourself, in 5 minutes." Answering, booking, intake questions, transfers and texts to callers.
- Growth: "We set it up, test it and tune it for you." The FAQ's advice: "Pick Growth if you want us to build and test it for you, or connect it to your CRM or booking tool."
- Scale: custom call flows and routing, plus "2-way texting from your number".
Because every plan answers the same calls, our arithmetic prices NextPhone on Pro at every volume. Annual billing lowers Pro: "Pay yearly and save about 17%: Pro is $1,990 a year ($166/mo)", per the same FAQ.
What NextPhone costs per call
The bill stays put, so the number that moves is the cost of each call. It halves every time your volume doubles:
| Calls a day | Calls a month | Monthly cost | Per call | A year |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 3 | 90 | $199 | $2.21 a call | $2,388 |
| 5 | 150 | $199 | $1.33 a call | $2,388 |
| 13 | 390 | $199 | $0.51 a call | $2,388 |
| 26 | 780 | $199 | $0.26 a call | $2,388 |
At 3 calls a day you pay $2.21 a call. At 26 a day, $0.26 a call. Call length does not enter the math either: a nine-minute intake call costs what a one-minute question does.
The break-even volume against each AI receptionist
Each row is a metered AI receptionist, what it costs at 3 calls a day, and the volume at which its cheapest plan starts to cost more than NextPhone's $199.
| AI receptionist | Billed by | 3 calls a day (90/mo) | Costs more than NextPhone from |
|---|---|---|---|
| Smith.ai AI Receptionist | the answered call | $187.50 | About 95 calls a month |
| RingCentral AI Receptionist | the minute | $134 | About 134 calls a month |
| Dialzara | the second | $121.50 | About 167 calls a month |
| My AI Front Desk | the minute | $106.50 | About 214 calls a month |
| Rosie | the minute, rounded up | $149 | About 334 calls a month |
| Upfirst | the call | $59.95 | About 353 calls a month |
| Goodcall | the unique caller | $79 | About 770 calls a month |
One tie sits inside those ranges: at 5 calls a day Dialzara costs $199, the same as NextPhone, before it passes it.
Phonely has no row: its pricing page states its Starter overage two ways, so no single break-even exists. At 200 calls a month it costs $150, below NextPhone; at 300 it costs $225, above it.
Read the table from your own call log. If you take fewer calls than the volume in the last column, that vendor costs less than NextPhone. Goodcall's row assumes every call is a different caller; repeat callers push its break-even higher still.
How NextPhone counts a call
- Billing unit: Flat monthly subscription with unlimited calls
- Rounding: No per-minute or per-call charge
- Time billed beyond the call: No usage-based charge
- Spam and short calls: No per-call charge
- Setup fee: None
- Contract: Month-to-month; no notice period or cancellation fee
- Trial: 7 days free
The pricing page FAQ puts it in one line: "Truly unlimited calls at one flat rate: no per-minute charges, no overage, no surprise bills." Rounding, minimum billed seconds and spam charges have nothing to apply to. Every plan lists "Spam labeling and caller blocking" and "Handles multiple calls at once".
These terms come from the pricing page only. We have not read a NextPhone terms-of-service document, so a fair-use clause there, if one exists, is not reflected here.

On the pricing page, "Zapier, Make, webhooks & API: 8,000+ apps" is listed on the Growth card, not on Pro. For which receptionists write to which tools, see AI receptionist integrations.
Fees, contract and trial
- Setup fee: the comparison table lists "Setup fee" as "None" on all three plans.
- Contract: "Yes. Month-to-month, no contracts, no cancellation fees." That is the FAQ's answer to "Can I cancel anytime?"
- Trial: "Start a 7-day free trial (cancel before it ends and you're not charged)". The page does not say whether a card is needed to start.
- Your number: "Forward your existing line (business, cell, or landline) to NextPhone, or get a new number in any area code." The page does not say what happens to a NextPhone number when you leave.
- Languages: "30 voices · 14 languages" on every plan card. The homepage adds: "Answers in English, Spanish and 12 more, switching the moment the caller does." (getnextphone.com, read October 27, 2026)

The catch
- At low volume it is the dearest ready-made AI receptionist in our table. At 3 calls a day NextPhone costs $199. No other AI receptionist in the table below costs more there. Upfirst costs $59.95 and Goodcall $79.
- The entry price is a do-it-yourself price. Pro is "You set it up yourself, in 5 minutes." Having NextPhone build the agent, or update your CRM after calls, is Growth at $299/month for unlimited calls.
- Texting back and forth is Scale only. The FAQ: "On Scale, 2-way SMS lets you and your team send and receive texts from your business number". Scale is $599/month for unlimited calls.
- Pro alerts one person. The comparison table lists real-time call notifications for "1 recipient" on Pro, and "3 SMS + 4 email" on Growth.
- The terms are a pricing page. Cancellation, trial and number rules here are FAQ answers, not contract clauses. Ask for the terms of service before you forward a business line.
Where NextPhone is a good buy
At 13 calls a day NextPhone's $199 costs less than Rosie's $299 and Upfirst's $227.45, both past their break-even volumes, and still loses to Goodcall's $129. It wins above Goodcall's break-even too: at 1,000 calls a month NextPhone costs less than every other AI receptionist in our table with a published price at that volume. Goodcall costs $259 there; Rosie publishes no plan that large.
It also suits a line whose volume swings. From 13 to 26 calls a day the bill does not move; every other AI receptionist in the table with a price at both volumes costs more at 26, and Rosie publishes no plan that covers 26 a day. Long calls cost nothing extra, which matters most against per-minute plans like Dialzara and RingCentral AI Receptionist.

How these numbers were made
Every vendor price on this page was read from the vendor's own pricing page on the date in its Source cell and saved as a dated capture. Monthly costs use each vendor's cheapest published plan for the volume plus its published overage, at 3-minute calls. The in-house figure uses the BLS median wage for receptionists over 2,080 paid hours (paid leave included), other employer benefit costs and turnover, each from the BLS release named below. Vendors that hide prices stay in the tables as quote only. We do not test answering quality and publish no ratings.

Changes to these prices
- Upfirst: cancellation notice recorded as none. Its pricing FAQ says "You can cancel, upgrade, or downgrade anytime, no questions asked," the same strength as other cancel-anytime terms. Its setup-fee summary now reads "None stated": no page says there is no fee. No price changed.
- My AI Front Desk: the 1,000 monthly overage credits its pricing page lists as included ("Extra credits you get each month in case you go over your included usage") now count as 40 included minutes, so Business-in-a-Box covers 240 minutes before the $0.25 rate applies (was 200).
- Phonely: its Professional plan card says 650 minutes and its comparison table 750; the card is used. When two plans tie on their lowest cost, the one with the narrower range is chosen, so Phonely at 300 calls a month prices on Professional alone.
- My AI Front Desk: billing-term summaries (billing unit, rounding, time billed beyond the call, spam, setup fee, contract, trial) added from the vendor-data billing-terms and contracts files and their captures. No price changed.
- Phonely: billing-term summaries (billing unit, rounding, time billed beyond the call, spam, setup fee, contract, trial) added from the vendor-data billing-terms and contracts files and their captures. No price changed.
- RingCentral AI Receptionist: billing-term summaries (billing unit, rounding, time billed beyond the call, spam, setup fee, contract, trial) added from the vendor-data billing-terms and contracts files and their captures. No price changed.
- Rosie added from its own pricing page (captured October 26, 2026), with billing terms from its terms, FAQ and help pages (read October 27, 2026). Rosie moves an account up a plan instead of charging overage.
- Goodcall added from its own pricing page (captured October 26, 2026), with billing terms from its terms, FAQ and help pages (read October 27, 2026). Goodcall bills per unique caller a month; our arithmetic counts every call as a different caller.
- Dialzara added from its own pricing page (captured October 26, 2026), with billing terms from its terms, FAQ and help pages (read October 27, 2026).
- Upfirst added from its own pricing page (captured October 26, 2026), with billing terms from its terms, FAQ and help pages (read October 27, 2026). Upfirst does not bill calls under 15 seconds or spam.
- Smith.ai AI Receptionist Enterprise at 500 calls ($800, $2.10 per extra call) added from its pricing page, in a full re-check of every source page.
- Added NextPhone Pro, Growth and Scale from its public pricing page. All three plans include unlimited calls with no per-minute charge or overage fee.
- Smith.ai AI Receptionist: billing terms added.
- My AI Front Desk: overage of $0.25 a minute (25 credits at $0.01) added; it was on the captured page but missing here.
