Housecall Pro AI Receptionist 2026: Which AI Receptionists Write to Housecall Pro
Published · prices checked October 26, 2026
Key takeaways
- 3 of 18 vendors we track document a built-in Housecall Pro connection: Abby Connect, My AI Front Desk and Smith.ai (prices checked October 26, 2026).
- Of those three, My AI Front Desk costs the least at 3, 5 and 13 calls a day, but it needs a Housecall Pro plan that includes API access.
- Housecall Pro's Zapier app has one write action, Create Customer, so every Zapier route stops at a customer record: no job, no note.
- None of the three is in Housecall Pro's partner list. Each built-in cell rests on the vendor's own pages; we have not tested any on a Housecall Pro account.

Our arithmetic: each vendor's cheapest published plan for that volume plus its published overage, at 3-minute calls. Taxes, setup fees, add-ons and Zapier are not included. How we price.
Housecall Pro's public partner list, read October 27, 2026, shows none of the 18 vendors in our integration matrix. Every "built in" cell above comes from the vendor's own help center or integration page, and we have not run a test call into a Housecall Pro account. Housecall Pro also sells its own "CSR AI", which it says "Answers calls and books jobs 24/7" (housecallpro.com/integrations, read October 27, 2026); it is part of the platform and this site does not price it.
For every tool side by side, see AI receptionist integrations.
What each built-in connection writes to Housecall Pro
My AI Front Desk: appointments through your API key
My AI Front Desk documents the connection in its help center. The AI can "work with your Housecall Pro account during calls, including booking and managing appointments", and the integration "uses your Housecall Pro API key" (myaifrontdesk.com/help/integrations/housecall-pro, read October 27, 2026).
The prerequisite is the catch: "A Housecall Pro account on a plan that includes API access", per the same page. Check your Housecall Pro plan before you count on it. You also pick an appointment length, from 30 minutes to 5 hours, because the AI "will not ask callers for an end time".
On price, it costs the least of the three at 3, 5 and 13 calls a day: $106.50, $151.50 and $331.50. It has one plan, $99/month for 240 minutes: 200 voice plus a 1,000-credit pool worth 40, and minutes past the allowance cost $0.25 a minute.
Smith.ai: client records, summaries and bookings
Smith.ai says that with its Housecall Pro integration "inbound callers are mapped to existing or new client records, so call summaries and appointment bookings can be automatically logged" (smith.ai/integrates-with/housecall-pro, read October 27, 2026).
Unlike its Jobber and ServiceTitan pages, this one lists AI Receptionist under "Works with", next to Virtual Receptionists, and links a guide titled "How to Connect Your Housecall Pro Account to AI Receptionist". The AI Receptionist bills per call: $270 at 5 calls a day, $695.30 at 13.
Abby Connect: a customer and a job, slotted by your rules
Abby Connect says new callers "land in Housecall Pro as a customer and a job: address, problem, and timing" (abby.com/integration/housecall-pro, read October 27, 2026). Live receptionists answer on the same plan.
One limit is stated outright on the same page: "Abby doesn't quote open time slots from your calendar; your office keeps that control." Jobs are booked by the rules you set at onboarding, and changes are relayed to your office. Abby costs $1,346.50 at 5 calls a day on our arithmetic; its pricing page counts an AI minute as half an Abby Minute, so an all-AI line uses fewer.
What "via Zapier" means for Housecall Pro
11 of 18 vendors we track reach Housecall Pro only through Zapier: Bland, Dialzara, Goodcall, NextPhone, Phonely, Posh, Retell AI, Rosie, Ruby, Synthflow and Upfirst. You build the Zap in your own Zapier account and pay Zapier for it.
Here the Zapier route is narrow. Housecall Pro's Zapier app, read October 27, 2026, has two triggers and one write action: Create Customer. A Zap can add the caller as a customer; it cannot open a job, add a note or book a time. The summary reaches you by email or text, and someone still creates the job.
NextPhone documents exactly that: the caller's details "go into a Housecall Pro customer record through Housecall Pro's own Zapier app" (getnextphone.com/integrations/housecall-pro, read October 27, 2026). Its page says the AI can also text your Housecall Pro booking link so the caller picks a time. The setup is on its Growth plan, $299/month for unlimited calls, and the page says "our team can build the Zap for you".
Goodcall's Housecall Pro page promises "seamless integration via API" (goodcall.com/business-productivity-ai/housecallpro, read October 27, 2026), with no setup guide; its help center names Zapier, so we record Zapier. At 13 calls a day Goodcall costs $129, less than NextPhone, Rosie, Upfirst, Phonely and Dialzara, the other AI receptionists on a Zapier route here. It bills per unique caller; we count every call as a new one.
What to ask before you buy
- Does my Housecall Pro plan allow it? My AI Front Desk needs API access. Ask the others which Housecall Pro plan their connection uses.
- Does a call create a job, or only a customer? Abby documents a customer and a job; a Zapier route can only create the customer.
- Can the AI offer an open slot during the call? My AI Front Desk documents booking appointments; Abby says it does not quote open slots; NextPhone texts your booking link instead.
- How are repeat customers matched? Smith.ai and Abby say callers are mapped to existing records. A Create Customer Zap has no search step on Housecall Pro's side, so ask how duplicates are avoided.
- What does a long call cost? My AI Front Desk and Abby bill by the minute; Smith.ai by the call.
- Will you run one test call into my account? None of these vendors publishes a Housecall Pro test, and we have not run one.
Which one fits which shop
Lowest cost with a built-in connection: My AI Front Desk
$151.50 at 5 calls a day, the least of the three that write to Housecall Pro natively. It may not fit if your Housecall Pro plan has no API access.
For job records with people on the line too: Abby Connect
Abby creates a customer and a job, and live receptionists share the plan. At $1,346.50 for 5 calls a day it costs the most of the three with a built-in connection, so it fits a shop where one job covers the month.
For flat pricing if a customer record is enough: NextPhone
Growth is $299/month for unlimited calls at any volume, and the Zap stops at a customer record plus a booking-link text. At 13 calls a day My AI Front Desk costs $331.50 with appointments built in.
An office hire costs $4,399 a month on the May 2025 BLS median wage, at any call volume: receptionist hire vs AI. Other field tools: Jobber and ServiceTitan.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which AI receptionist integrates with Housecall Pro?
Abby Connect, My AI Front Desk and Smith.ai document built-in Housecall Pro connections on their own pages, read October 27, 2026. 11 of 18 vendors we track reach Housecall Pro through Zapier alone, and that route can only create a customer record.
How much does a Housecall Pro AI receptionist cost?
At 5 three-minute calls a day, My AI Front Desk costs $151.50, Smith.ai's AI Receptionist $270 and Abby Connect $1,346.50 a month. Those are the three with built-in connections. Zapier's fee is extra on any Zap.
Can an AI receptionist book jobs in Housecall Pro?
My AI Front Desk's help center says its AI can book and manage appointments through your Housecall Pro API key. Abby Connect creates a customer and a job but does not quote open slots. A Zapier connection can only create the customer.
Do I need a particular Housecall Pro plan?
My AI Front Desk's connection needs "a Housecall Pro account on a plan that includes API access", per its help center, read October 27, 2026. The other vendors do not name a Housecall Pro plan on their pages.
Does Housecall Pro have its own AI receptionist?
Yes. Housecall Pro sells a "CSR AI" that it says answers calls and books jobs around the clock. It is part of the Housecall Pro platform, and this site does not price it.
How these numbers were made
Every vendor price on this page was read from the vendor's own pricing page on the date in its Source cell and saved as a dated capture. Monthly costs use each vendor's cheapest published plan for the volume plus its published overage, at 3-minute calls. The in-house figure uses the BLS median wage for receptionists over 2,080 paid hours (paid leave included), other employer benefit costs and turnover, each from the BLS release named below. Vendors that hide prices stay in the tables as quote only. We do not test answering quality and publish no ratings.

Changes to these prices
- Upfirst: cancellation notice recorded as none. Its pricing FAQ says "You can cancel, upgrade, or downgrade anytime, no questions asked," the same strength as other cancel-anytime terms. Its setup-fee summary now reads "None stated": no page says there is no fee. No price changed.
- Retell AI: corrected the transfer term. Its pricing page says "Once the call is transferred, the AI voice agent fee stops. Only the telephony fee continues for the remainder of the transferred call." The index had said the whole call was billed after a transfer. No price changed.
- My AI Front Desk: the 1,000 monthly overage credits its pricing page lists as included ("Extra credits you get each month in case you go over your included usage") now count as 40 included minutes, so Business-in-a-Box covers 240 minutes before the $0.25 rate applies (was 200).
- Phonely: its Professional plan card says 650 minutes and its comparison table 750; the card is used. When two plans tie on their lowest cost, the one with the narrower range is chosen, so Phonely at 300 calls a month prices on Professional alone.
- My AI Front Desk: billing-term summaries (billing unit, rounding, time billed beyond the call, spam, setup fee, contract, trial) added from the vendor-data billing-terms and contracts files and their captures. No price changed.
- Simple Phones: billing-term summaries (billing unit, rounding, time billed beyond the call, spam, setup fee, contract, trial) added from the vendor-data billing-terms and contracts files and their captures. No price changed.

- Rosie added from its own pricing page (captured October 26, 2026), with billing terms from its terms, FAQ and help pages (read October 27, 2026). Rosie moves an account up a plan instead of charging overage.
- Goodcall added from its own pricing page (captured October 26, 2026), with billing terms from its terms, FAQ and help pages (read October 27, 2026). Goodcall bills per unique caller a month; our arithmetic counts every call as a different caller.
- Dialzara added from its own pricing page (captured October 26, 2026), with billing terms from its terms, FAQ and help pages (read October 27, 2026).
- Upfirst added from its own pricing page (captured October 26, 2026), with billing terms from its terms, FAQ and help pages (read October 27, 2026). Upfirst does not bill calls under 15 seconds or spam.

- Posh: billing terms added from its terms, FAQ and help pages (read October 7, 2026): billing unit, rounding, time billed beyond the call, spam billing, setup fee, contract and trial.
- Abby Connect: billing terms added from its terms, FAQ and help pages (read October 7, 2026): billing unit, rounding, time billed beyond the call, spam billing, setup fee, contract and trial.
- Ruby: overage rates added from its help center ($5.40/min on the 50-minute plan down to $3.65 on 1,000 minutes), plus the 350, 750 and 1,000 minute plans published there. Ruby's pricing page still shows no overage rate.
- Abby Professional overage corrected to $2.99 per Abby Minute (its terms and help center), from $3.00 computed as price divided by minutes.
