RingCentral AI Receptionist Pricing 2026: Standalone Plan, RingEX Add-On and Overage

Published · prices checked October 26, 2026

Key takeaways

  • At 3, 5 and 13 three-minute calls a day, RingCentral AI Receptionist costs $134, $224 and $584 a month on its standalone plan.
  • Every call is rounded up to the next 30 seconds, so a 31-second call uses a full minute of the 100 included.
  • At 13 three-minute calls a day it costs $584, more than Goodcall, Rosie, Upfirst, NextPhone, Phonely, My AI Front Desk and Dialzara.
  • The add-on version starts at $39 a month but only on top of a RingEX phone plan, which RingCentral prices separately.

RingCentral AI Receptionist costs from $49/month (100 minutes), and 3 three-minute calls a day cost $134 a month on its standalone plan (prices checked October 26, 2026). Two things move the bill: the per-minute rate past 100 minutes, and 30-second rounding on every call.

RingCentral AI Receptionist pricing plans

Prices checked against each vendor's own pricing page on October 26, 2026.

PlanPrice and allowancePast the allowanceThe math
Standalone$49/month for 100 minutes$0.50 a minute$49 ÷ 100 min = $0.49/min

Our arithmetic: each vendor's cheapest published plan for that volume plus its published overage, at 3-minute calls. Taxes, setup fees and add-ons are not included. How we price.

The standalone price is a starting price: the pricing page labels it "Starts at" and names no larger tier. Past the 100 included minutes, extra minutes cost $0.50 a minute. The page also says "additional minute bundles are also available for purchase" but prints no bundle price (ringcentral.com/pricing/ai-receptionist.html, read October 26, 2026).

The standalone plan does not need a RingCentral phone line. The pricing page lists "Works with any business phone system" as included, and the product page says it sits on top of existing systems "using call forwarding or SIP-based integrations" (ringcentral.com/ai-receptionist.html, read October 26, 2026).

The RingEX add-on is a seat product, not a cheaper plan

RingCentral sells the same receptionist a second way: as an add-on to RingEX, its business phone service, "starting at $39 per month, also with 100 minutes included", per the pricing page FAQ.

That price only exists on top of RingEX. The bundle card reads "$39 + $30", labelled "/month for AI Receptionist + /month for RingEX Core Plan". Its RingEX feature list includes "One new phone number per user", so the phone side is sold by the user, not by the call.

We price the standalone plan only. The bundle card adds RingEX features such as "AI phone and video meetings" and "Team messaging and file sharing", a different purchase from call answering. If you already pay for RingEX seats, the add-on is the version to ask about; if you do not, the standalone plan is the receptionist on its own.

What RingCentral AI Receptionist costs at 3, 5 and 13 calls a day

100 minutes cover 33 three-minute calls. Everything past that bills by the minute, so the cost rises in a straight line with volume:

Calls a dayCalls a monthBilled minutesMonthly costPer callA year
390270$134$1.49 a call$1,608
5150450$224$1.49 a call$2,688
133901,170$584$1.50 a call$7,008

Worked example: at 13 calls a day, 1,070 of the 1,170 minutes are past the allowance. The plan, $49/month for 100 minutes, plus 1,070 minutes at $0.50 a minute comes to $584.

The cost per call barely moves with volume, because almost every minute is an overage minute. At 50 calls a month, under 2 a day, the bill is $74.

How 30-second rounding changes the bill

The pricing page says it plainly: "Call time is rounded up and billed in 30-second increments." What that does to single calls:

Call lengthBilled
10-second hang-up30 seconds
31 seconds1 minute
2 minutes 5 seconds2.5 minutes
3 minutes 1 second3.5 minutes

Our arithmetic uses calls of exactly 3 minutes, so rounding adds nothing to the figures on this page. Real calls do not end on the half-minute. If your calls average a few seconds over 3 minutes, each bills 3.5 minutes: at 13 calls a day that is 195 more billed minutes a month, each at $0.50 a minute.

Short calls cost the most relative to their length. The 100 included minutes cover 200 calls of 30 seconds or less, but only if nothing else uses them. RingCentral publishes no rule that keeps answered robocalls or wrong numbers out of those minutes.

How RingCentral AI Receptionist counts a minute

  • Billing unit: Per minute, in a monthly minute bundle
  • Rounding: 30 seconds, rounded up
  • Time billed beyond the call: Not published
  • Spam and short calls: Not published
  • Setup fee: Not published
  • Contract: Not published
  • Trial: 14 days free

The pricing page is the only billing document we found for this product. It names the rounding and the overage rate. It says nothing about time after a transfer, spam calls, a setup fee or a contract term, so each of those is "not published" above.

Fees, contract and trial

  • Trial: 14 days. Both versions, standalone and the RingEX add-on, "come with a 14-day free trial", per the pricing page FAQ.
  • Setup fee: none named. The pricing page lists "No professional services required" as included.
  • Contract: not stated on the AI Receptionist pricing page. RingEX seat terms were not read for this page.
  • Your number: the plan includes "a professional new phone number for your AI, or easily port your existing line". Terms for taking a number out again are not on the page.
  • More receptionists: "Launch unlimited AI Receptionists" is listed as included, with no per-bot fee named.

The catch

  1. Every minute past 100 bills at the same rate. No published tier lowers it, so 13 calls a day costs $584, nearly all of it overage.
  2. Rounding weighs most on short calls. A 31-second call bills a full minute. On a line with many short calls, the 100 minutes run out faster than call counts suggest.
  3. The minute bundles have no price. The page offers "additional minute bundles" without saying what they cost, so you cannot compare them with the overage rate before you buy.
  4. Spam, contract and setup terms are missing. The pricing page is silent on all three. Ask in writing before the trial ends.

Where RingCentral AI Receptionist is a good buy

At 50 three-minute calls a month it costs $74, less than Smith.ai AI Receptionist at $75, Goodcall at $79, My AI Front Desk at $99 and NextPhone at $199. Rosie, Phonely, Upfirst and Dialzara cost less at that volume.

At 3 calls a day it still costs less than Rosie, Smith.ai AI Receptionist and NextPhone.

Against NextPhone's flat $199, RingCentral costs less at 3 calls a day and more at 5. It costs more than NextPhone from about 134 calls a month.

It also fits a business already on RingCentral, and one that needs several languages: the product page lists "English, Spanish, French, Italian, German, Portuguese" and says it "can switch languages mid-conversation" (ringcentral.com/ai-receptionist.html, read October 26, 2026).

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does RingCentral AI Receptionist cost?

The standalone plan starts at $49/month for 100 minutes, with extra minutes at $0.50 a minute, read from RingCentral's pricing page on October 26, 2026. At 5 three-minute calls a day that comes to $224 a month.

How much is the RingCentral AI Receptionist add-on for RingEX?

The add-on starts at $39 a month with 100 minutes, according to RingCentral's pricing page. It is sold on top of a RingEX phone plan, which RingCentral prices separately, so the add-on price alone is not the full bill.

Does RingCentral AI Receptionist round calls up?

Yes. RingCentral rounds call time up and bills in 30-second increments. A 10-second call bills 30 seconds, and a 31-second call bills a full minute.

Does RingCentral AI Receptionist have a free trial?

Yes, 14 days, on both the standalone plan and the RingEX add-on, according to the pricing page. The page does not say whether a card is needed to start it.

Can I keep my phone number with RingCentral AI Receptionist?

Yes. The pricing page says the plan includes a new number or lets you port your existing line, and the product page says it works with other phone systems through call forwarding. The page does not say what happens to a ported number if you leave.

Does RingCentral AI Receptionist charge for spam calls?

RingCentral's AI Receptionist pricing page publishes no rule on spam or robocalls. Nothing on it keeps an answered robocall out of the 100 included minutes, so ask before the trial ends.

How these numbers were made

Every vendor price on this page was read from the vendor's own pricing page on the date in its Source cell and saved as a dated capture. Monthly costs use each vendor's cheapest published plan for the volume plus its published overage, at 3-minute calls. The in-house figure uses the BLS median wage for receptionists over 2,080 paid hours (paid leave included), other employer benefit costs and turnover, each from the BLS release named below. Vendors that hide prices stay in the tables as quote only. We do not test answering quality and publish no ratings.
