Towbook AI Receptionist 2026: Which AI Receptionists Create Tow Calls in Towbook
Published · prices checked October 26, 2026
Key takeaways
- Just 1 of 18 vendors we track, NextPhone, documents a Towbook connection, on its Growth plan at $299/month for unlimited calls (prices checked October 26, 2026).
- Towbook publishes no integrations directory and we found no Towbook app on Zapier, so no vendor has a Zapier route into Towbook.
- The evidence is NextPhone's own page. No directory can confirm it, and we have not tested it on a Towbook account.
- Round-the-clock dispatch cover by staff takes 4.7 full-time hires, $20,526 a month on the BLS median wage for May 2025.
Just 1 of 18 vendors we track, NextPhone, documents a Towbook connection, and its Towbook setup comes on the Growth plan at $299/month for unlimited calls (prices checked October 26, 2026). The other 17 document no Towbook connection, and Towbook offers no Zapier route around that.

Our arithmetic: each vendor's cheapest published plan for that volume plus its published overage, at 3-minute calls. Taxes, setup fees and add-ons are not included. How we price.
The table prices NextPhone's cheapest plan, Pro, at $199 for 5 calls a day. Its Towbook page puts the connection on Growth, $299/month for unlimited calls, set up by its team. Both plans have unlimited calls, so a storm night does not move the bill.
Why only one vendor shows up
For most tools on this site, a vendor without a built-in connection can still reach the tool through Zapier. Towbook closes that route. Its integrations page, towbook.com/integrations/, returned a 404 when we read it on October 27, 2026, and we found no Towbook app on Zapier.
So "Not documented" in the table means exactly that: neither the vendor's pages nor any Towbook listing shows a connection. It does not mean a vendor cannot build one. Abby Connect, for one, says it will "build missing integrations for new customers during onboarding, free" (abby.com/integration/jobber, read October 27, 2026). Ask, and ask for proof.
The NextPhone cell is vendor documentation only. With no Towbook directory to check, nothing outside NextPhone's own page confirms it, and we have not run a call into a Towbook account. See the full integration matrix for how every cell was verified.
What NextPhone says it writes to Towbook
NextPhone says the AI collects the pickup location, the vehicle and the type of service, "then creates the tow call in your Towbook account before the caller hangs up" (getnextphone.com/integrations/towbook, read October 27, 2026).
The same page lists what lands on the call:
- Locations: the pickup location and where the vehicle is going.
- Contact: the caller's name and callback number.
- Reason: one of tow, accident, lockout, jump start, fuel delivery, winch out, flat tire, service call, police call, repossession or storage.
- Notes: anything the caller said about the vehicle or the situation.
Your dispatcher still assigns the truck. The caller is told "a driver will call them back within five minutes with an arrival time", per the same page, so that promise becomes your team's to keep at 2 AM. Calls you mark urgent, such as an accident or a police call, can be transferred to your on-call dispatcher instead.
Setup is done for you: "You don't configure anything." That also means you cannot inspect the connection yourself before it goes live, so ask to watch the first test call arrive.
What a tow company should ask before it buys
- Which Towbook fields does it set, and which does it leave blank? The page names locations, contact, reason and notes. It does not mention the vehicle's year, make, model, color or plate as separate fields, or the account the call bills to.
- What happens with motor club and police rotation calls? The page lists "police call" as a reason but says nothing about motor club dispatches or account calls. Ask how those are handled.
- Does it quote a price or take a card? The Towbook page does not say. If your callers ask "how much" first, find out what the AI says.
- What if the caller cannot give an address? A highway caller may know only a mile marker or an exit. Ask how the pickup location is captured and read back.
- Who keeps the five-minute callback promise? The AI makes it; your dispatcher has to meet it.
- Can I watch a test call land in Towbook first? NextPhone sets the connection up for you; ask to see a call created in your account before your first full month.
What round-the-clock cover costs with staff
The staffed alternative for night calls is a person on the phone. Covering 168 hours a week takes 4.7 full-time receptionists with leave backfilled, at $20,526 a month on the BLS median wage for May 2025. That arithmetic is on receptionist coverage hours.
Other field tools on this site: Jobber, ServiceTitan and Housecall Pro.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which AI receptionist integrates with Towbook?
NextPhone is the one service of the 18 this site prices that documents a Towbook connection, read October 27, 2026. Its page says the AI creates the tow call in your Towbook account before the caller hangs up. The connection is on its Growth plan, $299/month for unlimited calls.
Can I connect an AI receptionist to Towbook with Zapier?
Not with a Towbook action. We found no Towbook app on Zapier on October 27, 2026. A Zap can still send call details to email or a spreadsheet, but someone retypes them into Towbook.
What does an AI receptionist put on a Towbook call?
NextPhone's Towbook page lists the pickup location, the destination, the caller's name and callback number, a reason such as tow, lockout or winch out, and any notes. The dispatcher assigns the driver in Towbook.
Has anyone tested an AI receptionist with Towbook?
Not that we can show. Towbook has no public integrations directory, and we have not connected a Towbook account to any receptionist yet. Ask the vendor to run a test call into your own account before you commit.
How these numbers were made
Every vendor price on this page was read from the vendor's own pricing page on the date in its Source cell and saved as a dated capture. Monthly costs use each vendor's cheapest published plan for the volume plus its published overage, at 3-minute calls. The in-house figure uses the BLS median wage for receptionists over 2,080 paid hours (paid leave included), other employer benefit costs and turnover, each from the BLS release named below. Vendors that hide prices stay in the tables as quote only. We do not test answering quality and publish no ratings.

Changes to these prices
- Upfirst: cancellation notice recorded as none. Its pricing FAQ says "You can cancel, upgrade, or downgrade anytime, no questions asked," the same strength as other cancel-anytime terms. Its setup-fee summary now reads "None stated": no page says there is no fee. No price changed.
- Retell AI: corrected the transfer term. Its pricing page says "Once the call is transferred, the AI voice agent fee stops. Only the telephony fee continues for the remainder of the transferred call." The index had said the whole call was billed after a transfer. No price changed.
- My AI Front Desk: the 1,000 monthly overage credits its pricing page lists as included ("Extra credits you get each month in case you go over your included usage") now count as 40 included minutes, so Business-in-a-Box covers 240 minutes before the $0.25 rate applies (was 200).
- Phonely: its Professional plan card says 650 minutes and its comparison table 750; the card is used. When two plans tie on their lowest cost, the one with the narrower range is chosen, so Phonely at 300 calls a month prices on Professional alone.
- My AI Front Desk: billing-term summaries (billing unit, rounding, time billed beyond the call, spam, setup fee, contract, trial) added from the vendor-data billing-terms and contracts files and their captures. No price changed.
- Simple Phones: billing-term summaries (billing unit, rounding, time billed beyond the call, spam, setup fee, contract, trial) added from the vendor-data billing-terms and contracts files and their captures. No price changed.

- Abby Connect: billing terms added from its terms, FAQ and help pages (read October 7, 2026): billing unit, rounding, time billed beyond the call, spam billing, setup fee, contract and trial.
- Ruby: overage rates added from its help center ($5.40/min on the 50-minute plan down to $3.65 on 1,000 minutes), plus the 350, 750 and 1,000 minute plans published there. Ruby's pricing page still shows no overage rate.
- Abby Professional overage corrected to $2.99 per Abby Minute (its terms and help center), from $3.00 computed as price divided by minutes.
