Vapi Pricing 2026: Hosting Fee, Provider Costs and Success Packages
Published · prices checked October 26, 2026
Key takeaways
- We cannot compute a Vapi cost at 3, 5 or 13 calls a day: only the hosting fee is Vapi's, and the speech, model and voice providers on top are your choice.
- Vapi's own calculator puts 1,000 minutes at $82 to $129 a month, of which hosting is $50.
- The free tier includes one Vapi phone number, 4 concurrent calls and email support without a response SLA.
- Core, $29 a month pre-paid and auto-renewing, adds a 2-business-day response SLA, 5 numbers and 10 concurrent calls.
Vapi's rate is $0.05/min hosting, plus each speech, model, voice and phone provider billed per minute (prices checked October 26, 2026). Vapi is a build-your-own voice AI platform: the hosting fee is the only number it sets, so the monthly bill depends on the providers you pick and how you build the agent.
Vapi pricing plans
Prices checked against each vendor's own pricing page on October 26, 2026.
| Plan | Package price | Usage | What the package adds |
|---|---|---|---|
| No Success Package (build your own) | None, with $5 in starting credits | $0.05/min hosting, plus each speech, model, voice and phone provider billed per minute | 1 Vapi phone number, 4 concurrent calls, community support and email support without an SLA |
| Core (build your own) | $29 a month, pre-paid | Same usage rates | 5 Vapi phone numbers, 10 concurrent calls, email support with a 2-business-day response SLA |
| Pro (build your own) | 10% of the hosting fee, $999 a month minimum | Same usage rates | 10 numbers, 30 concurrent calls, Slack support, uptime SLA |
| Premier (build your own) | Custom, direct sales only | Same usage rates | Named support team, custom concurrency |
Our arithmetic: each vendor's cheapest published plan for that volume plus its published overage, at 3-minute calls. Taxes, setup fees and add-ons are not included. How we price.
The packages buy support and capacity, not minutes. Every one of them says "Models pass-through at cost", and the page promises "Provider costs with no markup" (vapi.ai/pricing, read October 26, 2026).
What 1,000 minutes cost on Vapi's own calculator
Vapi does not publish one rate for a working call. Its pricing page has a calculator instead, and at 1,000 minutes a month with its default providers it shows:
| Line | Provider on the calculator | 1,000 minutes |
|---|---|---|
| Hosting fee | Vapi | $50 |
| Transcriber | Deepgram | $10 |
| Intelligence model | OpenAI | $8 to $45 |
| Voice | ElevenLabs | $15 to $24 |
| Transport | Vapi Telephony / SIP | Free |
| Estimated total | $82 to $129 a month |
Those are Vapi's figures, read October 26, 2026, not ours. The calculator rounds each line on its own, so the low-end lines as printed add to a dollar more than its low total. On the low estimate, hosting is $50 of $82; the model and the voice are where the range opens up.
1,000 minutes is a little less than our 13-calls-a-day volume of 1,170 minutes. We still print no Vapi cost at 3, 5 or 13 calls a day, because the providers are your choice and the page prices each one as a range.
What Vapi costs at 3, 5 and 13 calls a day
| Plan | 3 calls/day (90/mo) | 5 calls/day (150/mo) | 13 calls/day (390/mo) |

How Vapi counts a minute
- Billing unit: Per minute: hosting plus each provider you choose
- Rounding: Not published
- Time billed beyond the call: Not published
- Spam and short calls: Not published
- Setup fee: None stated
- Contract: Usage-based, no contract stated
- Trial: No trial; a free tier with starting credits
The pricing page shows rates per minute and says usage is "Pre-paid". It does not say how a call is rounded, whether ring or hold time is billed, or how spam calls count. Each provider bills the minutes it handles, so one call can carry four or five meters.

Fees, contract and trial
- Phone line: transport is "Charged by provider, not Vapi". Vapi Telephony and SIP are free on the page; Twilio inbound is $0.008 a minute.
- Extra simultaneous calls: "$10 / line / month" beyond your package's default.
- Contract: none on usage: "Get started for free, and then pay only for the minutes that run". Core is "Pre-paid, auto-renew".
- Minimums: "No minimum minutes required." Pro has a monthly minimum.
- Trial: no trial; a free tier with $5 in credits.
- Your number: the free tier includes "1 included Vapi phone number". What happens to it when you leave was not on the page we read.

The catch
- The advertised rate is hosting only. Speech recognition, the model and the voice are separate lines, "pass-through at cost". On Vapi's own calculator they are most of the bill at the high end.
- Four meters, one call. Each provider rounds and bills by its own rules, and Vapi's page states none of them. You see the real per-call cost only on your first invoice.
- Free means community support. The free tier lists "Peer to peer support via Discord community" and "Email support without SLA". Email on the free tier carries no response time, so a business line that breaks on a Saturday waits; Core adds a 2-business-day response SLA.
- The build is yours, and so is the upkeep. Vapi's own line is "You own and operate your agents, models, and data". Owning it means writing the prompts, wiring transfers and booking, and fixing them when a provider changes a model.
Where Vapi is a good buy
Vapi leaves every provider choice to you: any provider in its catalog, "Unlimited agents", and "Provider costs with no markup". If you already have a developer and a preferred model, you pay those providers' list rates plus the hosting fee.
The free tier is enough to build and test a receptionist on one number with 4 concurrent calls.

Cells that read "not computable" mean the published numbers cannot cover that volume. Rows marked "build your own" price platform usage only; the other rows are a ready-made receptionist's plan price. How these numbers were made
Every vendor price on this page was read from the vendor's own pricing page on the date in its Source cell and saved as a dated capture. Monthly costs use each vendor's cheapest published plan for the volume plus its published overage, at 3-minute calls. Vendors that hide prices stay in the tables as quote only. We do not test answering quality and publish no ratings.

Changes to these prices
- Upfirst: cancellation notice recorded as none. Its pricing FAQ says "You can cancel, upgrade, or downgrade anytime, no questions asked," the same strength as other cancel-anytime terms. Its setup-fee summary now reads "None stated": no page says there is no fee. No price changed.
- Retell AI: corrected the transfer term. Its pricing page says "Once the call is transferred, the AI voice agent fee stops. Only the telephony fee continues for the remainder of the transferred call." The index had said the whole call was billed after a transfer. No price changed.
- Phonely: its Professional plan card says 650 minutes and its comparison table 750; the card is used. When two plans tie on their lowest cost, the one with the narrower range is chosen, so Phonely at 300 calls a month prices on Professional alone.
- Simple Phones: billing-term summaries (billing unit, rounding, time billed beyond the call, spam, setup fee, contract, trial) added from the vendor-data billing-terms and contracts files and their captures. No price changed.
