Phonely Pricing 2026: Free, Starter and Professional Plans, Minutes and Overage
Published · prices checked October 26, 2026
Key takeaways
- At 3, 5 and 13 three-minute calls a day, Phonely costs $67.50 to $74.50, $112.50 to $137.50 and $292.50 to $389.50 a month; its free plan covers 100 minutes.
- Its pricing page disagrees with itself: the plan cards give Starter 200 minutes, the comparison table 250, and the table shows two Starter overage rates.
- At 3 three-minute calls a day Phonely costs less than Goodcall, My AI Front Desk, Rosie and NextPhone; Upfirst costs less.
- Minutes after Phonely transfers a call to your team may still be billed, at a post-transfer rate the table lists separately.
- From about 7 to 10 calls a day Professional costs no more than Starter at either overage rate; at 13 a day Starter at the lower rate costs less again, so Phonely's cost is a range, $292.50 to $389.50.
Phonely starts with a free plan of 100 minutes, then $50/month (200 minutes), and 5 three-minute calls a day cost $112.50 to $137.50 a month (prices checked October 26, 2026). The cost is a range because Phonely's own pricing page prints two different overage rates for Starter.
Phonely pricing plans
Prices checked against each vendor's own pricing page on October 26, 2026.
| Plan | Price and allowance | Past the allowance | The math |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | Free for 100 minutes | Upgrade required | Not computable from the page |
| Starter | $50/month for 200 minutes | $0.25 to $0.35 a minute | $50 ÷ 200 min = $0.25/min |
| Professional | $150/month for 650 minutes | $0.30 a minute | $150 ÷ 650 min = $0.23/min |
Our arithmetic: each vendor's cheapest published plan for that volume plus its published overage, at 3-minute calls. Taxes, setup fees and add-ons are not included. How we price.
Paid yearly, Starter is $33 a month and Professional $100, a discount the page labels "33% off" (phonely.ai/pricing, read October 26, 2026). Enterprise has no list price; the card says "as low as 5¢/ min".
The page's FAQ on the free plan: "If you go over that limit, you will need to upgrade". At 3 minutes a call, 100 minutes is 33 calls a month, about one a day.
Why Phonely's page shows two sets of numbers
The plan cards and the comparison table below them do not match. We priced from the cards and kept the table's other rate as the top of a range:
| What the page says | Plan cards | Comparison table |
|---|---|---|
| Starter minutes | 200 mins ~100 calls | 250 |
| Professional minutes | 650 mins ~300 calls | 750 |
| Starter overage, monthly view | not shown | $0.25/min |
| Starter overage, annual view | not shown | $0.35/min |
The table's monthly and annual views print different Starter overage rates, and nothing on the page says the rate depends on billing cycle. That is why Starter's overage reads $0.25 to $0.35 a minute in our index. Professional's rate, $0.30 a minute, is the same in both views.
The minute counts cut the other way. If the table's 250 and 750 are right, every bill past the allowance is 50 or 100 minutes of overage lower than our figures. Ask Phonely which numbers your plan carries before you sign up.
The FAQ adds a third reading. It sizes Starter for "anyone receiving up to 50 calls per month who needs a basic answering system", while the card says about 100 calls.
What Phonely costs at 3, 5 and 13 calls a day
| Calls a day | Calls a month | Monthly cost | Per call | A year |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 3 | 90 | $67.50 to $74.50 | $0.75 to $0.83 a call | $810 to $894 |
| 5 | 150 | $112.50 to $137.50 | $0.75 to $0.92 a call | $1,350 to $1,650 |
| 13 | 390 | $292.50 to $389.50 | $0.75 to $1.00 a call | $3,510 to $4,674 |
At 3 and 5 calls a day, Starter is the cheaper plan at either overage rate. 3 calls a day is 270 minutes: Starter's 200 plus 70 extra, which is $67.50 to $74.50.
From about 7 calls a day up to 10, Professional costs no more than Starter at either rate, and the range disappears. Its 650 minutes cover 216 three-minute calls for one flat price.
At 13 calls a day the range is back. 1,170 minutes on Starter is $50/month for 200 minutes plus 970 minutes at $0.25 to $0.35 a minute: $292.50 to $389.50. Professional, $150/month for 650 minutes plus 520 minutes at $0.30 a minute, lands inside that range: above Starter at the lower rate, below it at the higher one. Until Phonely says which Starter rate applies, Professional is the bill you can predict.
How Phonely counts a minute
- Billing unit: Per minute, in a monthly minute bundle
- Rounding: Not published
- Time billed beyond the call: Minutes after a transfer may be billed
- Spam and short calls: Not published
- Setup fee: Not published
- Contract: Not published
- Trial: No trial; a free plan of 100 minutes
Phonely publishes no rounding rule and no per-call minimum. The pricing page and its FAQ are the only billing documents we found; no terms page sets out how a minute is metered.
Transfers can keep the meter running. The FAQ: "Post-transfer minutes are the call minutes that happen after Phonely transfers a caller to a live person or another phone number". Because the line stays open, "we continue to be charged carrier and telephony costs for those minutes, which is why post-transfer minutes may be billed" (phonely.ai/pricing, read October 26, 2026).
The comparison table lists a Post Transfer Rate of $0.02 a minute on Starter and Pro. It does not say whether those minutes also come out of the plan allowance. Two setups carry no post-transfer charge, per the FAQ: "SIP REFER transfers" and "Enterprise plans using custom telephony".
Spam filtering is listed as a Starter feature. Whether a filtered call uses minutes is not stated.

The pricing FAQ answers "Can you integrate with my software?" with "Almost always, yes! Phonely supports a wide range of prebuilt integrations" (phonely.ai/pricing, read October 26, 2026), and the Professional card lists "CRM integrations". Every vendor against the same tools: AI receptionist integrations.
Fees, contract and trial
- Free plan instead of a trial: "a free plan with 100 free minutes of AI phone answering every month plus a free phone number", with no payment required, per the FAQ.
- Phone numbers: the table includes 1 free number on Free, 3 on Starter and 5 on Pro.
- Setup fee: none named on the pricing page. Enterprise includes a "Full Agent Buildout"; Free and Starter are self-serve.
- Contract, notice and cancelling: not published on the pricing page, and no terms page was read for these billing rules.
- Your number: the pricing page does not say whether a number can be ported out.
The catch
- Two overage rates for one plan. The monthly and annual views of the comparison table print $0.25 and $0.35 a minute for Starter. At 5 calls a day that gap moves the bill across the whole range of $112.50 to $137.50.
- Transferred calls can keep billing. If your agent hands most callers to a person, post-transfer minutes "may be billed" on top of the AI minutes. Ask which transfer method your setup uses.
- The free plan has a wall, not a meter. Free carries no overage rate: past 100 minutes "you will need to upgrade". The page does not say what happens to calls in the meantime.
- No published terms for leaving. Contract length, notice and number porting are not on the pricing page.
Where Phonely is a good buy
At 3 three-minute calls a day, Phonely costs $67.50 to $74.50, less than Goodcall at $79, My AI Front Desk at $106.50, Rosie at $149 and NextPhone at $199. Upfirst costs less, at $59.95.
At 5 a day, even the high end of Phonely's range is below Rosie's $149, Dialzara's $199 and NextPhone's $199. And the free plan lets you test a live number with real callers before paying anything.

At 13 calls a day the order turns: Goodcall, NextPhone and Upfirst all cost less than Phonely's $292.50 to $389.50. NextPhone's flat $199 cost more than Phonely at 5 a day. Rosie's $299 and My AI Front Desk's $331.50 fall inside Phonely's range, and Phonely still costs less than Dialzara and RingCentral AI Receptionist at that volume. Every option side by side: Phonely alternatives.
One full-time receptionist on the BLS median wage costs $4,399 a month with benefits and turnover, 11.3 to 15.0 times Phonely at 13 calls a day: hire vs AI receptionist.

How these numbers were made
Every vendor price on this page was read from the vendor's own pricing page on the date in its Source cell and saved as a dated capture. Monthly costs use each vendor's cheapest published plan for the volume plus its published overage, at 3-minute calls. The in-house figure uses the BLS median wage for receptionists over 2,080 paid hours (paid leave included), other employer benefit costs and turnover, each from the BLS release named below. Vendors that hide prices stay in the tables as quote only. We do not test answering quality and publish no ratings.

Changes to these prices
- Upfirst: cancellation notice recorded as none. Its pricing FAQ says "You can cancel, upgrade, or downgrade anytime, no questions asked," the same strength as other cancel-anytime terms. Its setup-fee summary now reads "None stated": no page says there is no fee. No price changed.
- My AI Front Desk: the 1,000 monthly overage credits its pricing page lists as included ("Extra credits you get each month in case you go over your included usage") now count as 40 included minutes, so Business-in-a-Box covers 240 minutes before the $0.25 rate applies (was 200).
- Phonely: its Professional plan card says 650 minutes and its comparison table 750; the card is used. When two plans tie on their lowest cost, the one with the narrower range is chosen, so Phonely at 300 calls a month prices on Professional alone.
- My AI Front Desk: billing-term summaries (billing unit, rounding, time billed beyond the call, spam, setup fee, contract, trial) added from the vendor-data billing-terms and contracts files and their captures. No price changed.
- Phonely: billing-term summaries (billing unit, rounding, time billed beyond the call, spam, setup fee, contract, trial) added from the vendor-data billing-terms and contracts files and their captures. No price changed.
- RingCentral AI Receptionist: billing-term summaries (billing unit, rounding, time billed beyond the call, spam, setup fee, contract, trial) added from the vendor-data billing-terms and contracts files and their captures. No price changed.
- Rosie added from its own pricing page (captured October 26, 2026), with billing terms from its terms, FAQ and help pages (read October 27, 2026). Rosie moves an account up a plan instead of charging overage.
- Goodcall added from its own pricing page (captured October 26, 2026), with billing terms from its terms, FAQ and help pages (read October 27, 2026). Goodcall bills per unique caller a month; our arithmetic counts every call as a different caller.
- Dialzara added from its own pricing page (captured October 26, 2026), with billing terms from its terms, FAQ and help pages (read October 27, 2026).
- Upfirst added from its own pricing page (captured October 26, 2026), with billing terms from its terms, FAQ and help pages (read October 27, 2026). Upfirst does not bill calls under 15 seconds or spam.
- Added NextPhone Pro, Growth and Scale from its public pricing page. All three plans include unlimited calls with no per-minute charge or overage fee.
- My AI Front Desk: overage of $0.25 a minute (25 credits at $0.01) added; it was on the captured page but missing here.
