Upfirst Pricing 2026: Per-Call Plans, Free Short Calls and the Scale Price
Published · prices checked October 26, 2026
Key takeaways
- At 3, 5 and 13 three-minute calls a day, Upfirst costs $59.95, $119.95 and $227.45 a month. At 3 a day that is less than any other ready-made AI receptionist in our table.
- Upfirst bills per call, not per minute. Calls under 15 seconds, calls where nobody speaks, spam and test calls are not billed.
- At 13 calls a day Upfirst costs $227.45, more than Goodcall at $129 and NextPhone at $199, less than the other six ready-made AI receptionists with a price at that volume.
- Scale is $299/month for 600 calls on the pricing page and $299.95 a month in Upfirst's help center.
Upfirst starts at $24.95/month (30 calls), and 5 three-minute calls a day cost $119.95 a month on its cheapest plan for that volume (prices checked October 26, 2026). It counts calls, not minutes, and some calls do not count at all: anything under 15 seconds, spam and tests.
Upfirst pricing plans
Prices checked against each vendor's own pricing page on October 26, 2026.
| Plan | Price and allowance | Past the allowance | The math |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $24.95/month for 30 calls | $1.50 a call | $24.95 ÷ 30 calls = $0.83/call |
| Premium | $59.95/month for 90 calls | $1.00 a call | $59.95 ÷ 90 calls = $0.67/call |
| Pro | $159.95/month for 300 calls | $0.75 a call | $159.95 ÷ 300 calls = $0.53/call |
| Scale | $299/month for 600 calls | $0.70 a call | $299 ÷ 600 calls = $0.50/call |
Our arithmetic: each vendor's cheapest published plan for that volume plus its published overage, at 3-minute calls. Taxes, setup fees and add-ons are not included. How we price.
Every plan has the same features: "The main difference between each plan is the number of included calls" (help.upfirst.ai, read October 27, 2026). Pro and Scale add white-glove onboarding, custom integration help and a priority support queue.
Above 600 calls a month the pricing page lists "Custom", "Volume pricing, tailored to you".
The Scale price: two numbers for one plan
Upfirst's pricing page shows Scale at $299/month for 600 calls (upfirst.ai/pricing, read October 26 and 27, 2026). Its help center pricing FAQ says: "For the Scale plan: $299.95/month" (help.upfirst.ai, read October 27, 2026).
Our index follows the pricing page. Check the amount at checkout before you pick Scale. No number on this page for 3, 5 or 13 calls a day uses Scale.
What Upfirst costs at 3, 5 and 13 calls a day
The table adds 50, 200 and 300 calls a month to show where Upfirst switches plans and where Pro's calls run out:
| Calls a month | Calls a day | Monthly cost | Per call | A year |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 50 | under 2 | $54.95 | $1.10 a call | $659 |
| 90 | 3 | $59.95 | $0.67 a call | $719 |
| 150 | 5 | $119.95 | $0.80 a call | $1,439 |
| 200 | under 7 | $159.95 | $0.80 a call | $1,919 |
| 300 | 10 | $159.95 | $0.53 a call | $1,919 |
| 390 | 13 | $227.45 | $0.58 a call | $2,729 |
At 3 calls a day Premium fits exactly: $59.95/month for 90 calls. At 5 a day the cheapest route is still Premium, plus 60 calls at $1.00 a call. By 200 calls Pro, $159.95/month for 300 calls, costs less than Premium plus overage. Its 300 calls cover 10 a day; at 13 a day the 90 calls past them cost $0.75 a call.
At 5 a day each call costs $0.80 a call, more than at 3 a day, because overage calls cost more than bundled ones.
How Upfirst counts a call
- Billing unit: Per call
- Rounding: Per call; calls under 15 seconds not billed
- Time billed beyond the call: Per call, duration not billed
- Spam and short calls: Spam, robocalls and silent calls not billed
- Setup fee: None stated; the help center says setup help is included
- Contract: Month-to-month or annual; no notice period
- Trial: 14 days free, no card
The pricing page FAQ: "We also don't bill for calls under 15 seconds or calls where the caller never speaks"; pocket dials included. Spam, telemarketing and robocalls "don't count against your plan", and both kinds are labeled in the call log (upfirst.ai/pricing, read October 27, 2026).
Spam filtering is a setting. The help center says it "can be filtered automatically under Contacts → Blocked → toggle on Detect and block spam calls" (help.upfirst.ai, read October 27, 2026). Check it is on.
Test calls from a number you register as your test line are "always free" (same article). Call length does not matter: a 9-minute call counts once.

Every plan card lists "Zapier integration", described as "Push caller details into your CRM and thousands of other apps" (upfirst.ai/pricing, read October 27, 2026). See AI receptionist integrations for the tool-by-tool view.
Annual billing: a year of calls in one bucket
Annual plans run 20% below monthly, and Upfirst changes how calls count. The help center: "you are given a bucket of calls at the beginning of your plan and can use them throughout the year."
Its own example: "you receive 28 calls in one month, and the next you receive 32 calls, you aren't charged overages for those extra calls". On Pro the year costs "$1,536/year (which averages to $128/mo)" (all help.upfirst.ai, read October 27, 2026).
For a seasonal business that is the real difference. A monthly plan bills overage in the busy month even if the quiet months go unused.
Fees, contract and trial
- Setup fee: none published; "There is no need to pay extra for add-ons." (help center)
- Contract: "No. You can cancel, upgrade, or downgrade anytime, no questions asked." (pricing page FAQ)
- Cancelling: "Your plan will end at the end of your current billing period." Upfirst may then "offer a partial refund on your last payment" for a feedback call (help.upfirst.ai, read October 27, 2026).
- Trial: 14 days, "no credit card required when you sign up" (help center), and "You can forward real calls" (pricing page).
- Your number: forward your existing line "with no porting required", or port it: "we'll help you do it at no extra charge." (pricing page)
- Extra agents: "Additional agents are $9.95 per month each", and "calls from every agent count toward the same plan allowance." (help center)
- After you leave: the terms give "ninety (90) days to export your Customer Content" before deletion.
Quotes from upfirst.ai/pricing, the pricing FAQ and the terms of service, all read October 27, 2026, unless named otherwise.
The catch
- A short call costs as much as a long one. Past 15 seconds, a 20-second call asking your opening hours counts the same as a 9-minute booking. A line of quick questions uses the bundle fast.
- Overage is the dearest call on the plan. Starter's extra calls cost $1.50 a call, against $24.95 ÷ 30 calls = $0.83/call inside the bundle.
- Repeat callers pay every time. A customer who calls three times about one job is three calls. Goodcall, by contrast, bills each caller once a month.
- The terms are not where the billing rules are. Upfirst's terms of service carry no billing, renewal or refund clauses, and Upfirst may modify them "at any time and without prior notice" (terms, section 3).
- The Scale price is stated twice. $299/month for 600 calls on the pricing page, $299.95 in the help center.
Where Upfirst is a good buy
At 3 calls a day Upfirst costs $59.95, less than any other ready-made AI receptionist in our table at that volume. Calls under 15 seconds are not billed; Rosie rounds every call up to a full minute.
At 13 a day, $227.45 is less than Rosie, Phonely and Smith.ai AI Receptionist at that volume. It is more than NextPhone's flat $199: Upfirst costs more than NextPhone from about 353 calls a month.

How these numbers were made
Every vendor price on this page was read from the vendor's own pricing page on the date in its Source cell and saved as a dated capture. Monthly costs use each vendor's cheapest published plan for the volume plus its published overage, at 3-minute calls. The in-house figure uses the BLS median wage for receptionists over 2,080 paid hours (paid leave included), other employer benefit costs and turnover, each from the BLS release named below. Vendors that hide prices stay in the tables as quote only. We do not test answering quality and publish no ratings.

Changes to these prices
- Upfirst: cancellation notice recorded as none. Its pricing FAQ says "You can cancel, upgrade, or downgrade anytime, no questions asked," the same strength as other cancel-anytime terms. Its setup-fee summary now reads "None stated": no page says there is no fee. No price changed.
- My AI Front Desk: the 1,000 monthly overage credits its pricing page lists as included ("Extra credits you get each month in case you go over your included usage") now count as 40 included minutes, so Business-in-a-Box covers 240 minutes before the $0.25 rate applies (was 200).
- Phonely: its Professional plan card says 650 minutes and its comparison table 750; the card is used. When two plans tie on their lowest cost, the one with the narrower range is chosen, so Phonely at 300 calls a month prices on Professional alone.
- My AI Front Desk: billing-term summaries (billing unit, rounding, time billed beyond the call, spam, setup fee, contract, trial) added from the vendor-data billing-terms and contracts files and their captures. No price changed.
- Phonely: billing-term summaries (billing unit, rounding, time billed beyond the call, spam, setup fee, contract, trial) added from the vendor-data billing-terms and contracts files and their captures. No price changed.
- RingCentral AI Receptionist: billing-term summaries (billing unit, rounding, time billed beyond the call, spam, setup fee, contract, trial) added from the vendor-data billing-terms and contracts files and their captures. No price changed.
- Rosie added from its own pricing page (captured October 26, 2026), with billing terms from its terms, FAQ and help pages (read October 27, 2026). Rosie moves an account up a plan instead of charging overage.
- Goodcall added from its own pricing page (captured October 26, 2026), with billing terms from its terms, FAQ and help pages (read October 27, 2026). Goodcall bills per unique caller a month; our arithmetic counts every call as a different caller.

- Upfirst added from its own pricing page (captured October 26, 2026), with billing terms from its terms, FAQ and help pages (read October 27, 2026). Upfirst does not bill calls under 15 seconds or spam.
- Smith.ai AI Receptionist Enterprise at 500 calls ($800, $2.10 per extra call) added from its pricing page, in a full re-check of every source page.
- Added NextPhone Pro, Growth and Scale from its public pricing page. All three plans include unlimited calls with no per-minute charge or overage fee.
- Smith.ai AI Receptionist: billing terms added.
- My AI Front Desk: overage of $0.25 a minute (25 credits at $0.01) added; it was on the captured page but missing here.
